So I can’t help but notice that
some of the lotteries frequent changes in the way winnings are calculated. Now,
some would say, new changes could result in more incremental jackpot winnings
meaning, more single digit dollar winnings but, with a less likely chance at
the mega-jackpot. You know, the mu-la (spelling?). So my question to you, the
fans, the lottery players, would you rather have a better odds at winning the
grand-jackpot, the jackpot odds not so much favoring your chance of winning but
giving you more smaller winnings as you play, or do you just not care. Are most
of the lottery players out there, giving up that minimal cost of one dollar or
two, to have those few days to dream of how winning the jackpot might
change your life? Now I can’t help but think about the movie, The Matrix in
this situation. I mean come on, right? The whole “Ignorance is bliss”
philosophy. I know the two are not directly comparable, for instance we all are
well aware of the unfavorable odds involved of winning, but we all spend those
couple dollars anyway. I suppose it comes down to this idea, for myself and
from what I’ve seen speaking to hundreds of lottery players. A few dollars here
and there, is worth the return of playing the lottery even IF the return on
investment was only the dream. We live in a world filled with hardship that
comes without any work, so, anything that would lead to better thoughts,
especially that which is priced at $1 or $2, seems to be a pretty decent pass
time/source of entertainment. Till next time, the voice of lottery, spoken
without filters, spoken from the players. Cheers~
